Commissions & Trade

Do you take commissions?

Yes. Commissions are one of the most rewarding parts of my practice.

The process starts with a conversation. Not about dimensions and colours, but about the underlying intent. What does the space mean to you? What feeling should the work carry? What story are you bringing to the wall?

From there, I develop a concept, share progress along the way, and deliver a one-of-one work made for your specific context. Timeline depends on complexity, typically 8-12 weeks from deposit.

How does the commission process look like?

How it works:

  1. Initial conversation — email or call. You share your vision, space photos, and emotional brief.

  2. Concept and quote — I propose an approach, format, and price.

  3. 50% deposit — work begins.

  4. Progress updates — you see the work evolving.

  5. Completion and delivery — 50% balance, then the work ships to you.

I'm an interior designer, architect. Do you offer trade pricing?

Yes. I work regularly with designers and architects on residential and hospitality projects.

Trade clients receive:

  • Preferential pricing on editions and originals

  • Priority access to new works before public release

  • Custom sizing and colour consultation for project-specific needs

  • Professional photography and specification sheets for client presentations

  • Installation guidance for optimal display and lighting

Email studio@petergil.com with the subject line "Trade inquiry" and a brief description of your project. I'll respond within 2-3 working days.

I need art for a hotel lobby, restaurant or office.
Do you do bulk or large-scale projects?

Absolutely. Hospitality and commercial projects are a natural fit! The work is designed to create atmosphere, not fade into the background.

For commercial projects, I offer:

  • Custom scales and formats

  • Cohesive multi-piece series for larger spaces

  • Trade pricing

  • Installation consultation

  • Licensing options for reproductions across multiple locations

Let's talk about your space. Email studio@petergil.com with photos and a brief and I'll come back with ideas and pricing.
