On the arrangement
At the core of this digital painting is a sense of movement.
Though the lines are carefully arranged, they also feel lively and spontaneous. I want viewers to wander through this labyrinth of shapes, discovering new pathways each time they look.
In some sections, the lines create loops that remind me of traditional floral vines. In others, they break into more abstract forms that point to modern design. This interplay between the familiar and the unknown is what makes creating art so exciting for me.
It’s like a dialogue between the past I cherish and the future I’m eager to explore.
Other thing I value deeply is the emotional connection art can foster. When someone views my painting, I hope they feel a sense of curiosity, nostalgia, or even wonder. Maybe they’ll be reminded of a family tradition or a story told by their grandparents. Or maybe they’ll see something entirely different — an echo of their own experiences or dreams.
Art can speak to each of us in unique ways, and I love the idea that my work might spark a personal reflection in others.
I hope you find as much joy in experiencing this artwork as I did in creating it. Each line, swirl and color choice holds pieces of my story, and my wish is that you’ll discover your own within it.
Through my pieces, I aim to spark conversations — about heritage, creativity, and the value of tradition in a modern world. It’s an invitation to pause, reflect, and see how art can bring us closer to both our roots and our future.
About the artwork
In this piece, I chose a juxtaposition of black and burgundy on a white background. Each color plays a distinct role in telling the painting’s story. Black provides a strong, grounding structure. It helps guide your eyes around the composition, revealing a kind of map or maze to explore.
Red sparks energy and passion, deep like the blood spilled to achieve the perfect love we all dream to find. It reminds me of the bold embroidery often found in Kociewie’s folk costumes and tapestries. The simple white background is enhanced by natural texture, just like the original patterns were usually put onto linen.
Symmetry is another key element of my art. It’s my way of bringing balance to a scene that might otherwise feel chaotic. If you look carefully, you’ll notice the lines almost mirror each other from left to right and top to bottom, forming a gentle rhythm across the canvas.
For me, symmetry reflects how we can carry our heritage with us while still adapting to a changing world. It’s about honoring the “old ways” without losing sight of innovation and personal expression.
